On Jan. 6, a mob took clear direction from Donald Trump and other political leaders to turn dangerous sentiments into violent reality. But the movement itself is larger and more complex than many people might like to think.
The bottom line is this: Now that Trump is out of office, the DOJ’s view that sitting presidents cannot be indicted no longer shields him. Attempted coups cannot be ignored.

With his incitement of a direct assault on the people’s house, Trump has forfeited his claim to finish his term. The House must again impeach him, and the Senate must vote to remove him. It must bar him from ever again serving in public office.
