We are chilled to our bones at the thought of a coup succeeding next time. The potential for a total breakdown of the chain of command along partisan lines — from the top of the chain to squad level — is significant should another insurrection occur.
If elected, these candidates would join at least 10 other Republican participants in the attack who have been elected to state and local offices. Many of them enjoy support of fellow party leaders — a sign of the right’s ongoing radicalization.
